STOURBRIDGE: An 82-year-old Punjabi man has been charged with his wife’s murder after she was found dead at a Stourbridge home in England.
The body of Gian Bhandal, also aged 82-years-old was discovered by police at a house in Trehernes Drive with fatal injuries on January 23.
Her death was initially treated as unexplained but two weeks later (5 Feb) an investigation led to the arrest of her spouse, Pargan Singh Bhandal.

Mrs Bhandal’s relatives are being supported by a specialist police family liaison officer at this tragic time.
On Feb. 7, West Midlands Police revealed the pensioner had been charged with murder and will appear at Leamington Justice Centre.
Appearing in magistrates’ court at Warwick Justice Centre, Bhandal walked unsteadily into the dock with the aid of crutches.
With the help of a Punjabi interpreter, Pargan Singh Bhandal confirmed his address while giving his nationality British.
Prosecutor Baldev Singh Atwal said that Bhandal’s remand status could only be considered by the crown court. Pargan Singh Bhandal will remain in custody until next hearing.
The next hearing would be at Warwick Crown Court on February 11.
