MUMBAI: A special court in Mumbai has rejected the bail pleas of actress Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty in the drug case linked to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death.
The court also rejected the bail pleas of Abdul Basit, Zaid Vilatra, Dipesh Sawant and Samuel Miranda.
In her bail plea, Rhea Chakraborty claimed that she was coerced by Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) into making self-incriminatory confessions during custody.
“NCB has used…basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as someone who finances…illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders,” Rhea bail plea states.
Rhea was arrested earlier this week by Narcotics Control Bureau and was sent to 14-day judicial custody.
