Another drama of SGPC

The decision of Akal Takht acting Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh to publicly punish Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Gobind Singh Longowal and executive committee members on Friday for failing to check the misappropriation of Guru Granth Sahib Saroops, has failed to impress the majority of Sikhs across globe.

Jathedar first directed the Longowal and other members to first Do Parikarma of Darbar Sahib Sarovar (Circumambulate the holy tank) by chanting Satnam-Waheguru. Later he directed all to organize one Akhand Path at Gurdwara Ramsar Sahib for Pashchatap (regret and remorse) for the 2016 fire incident that led to saroops getting burnt. Another Akhand Path at Akal Takht.

Apart from it, Jathedar also directed to clean the street leading to Darbar Sahib from Saragarhi Serai to Ghantaghar Chowk.

The latest drama of Jathedar and SGPC team has confirmed that their political bosses are so scared that they have tried to project Parikarma of Darbar Sahib Sarovar and Akhand Path as punishment, which is unacceptable to Sikh Panth. The latest punishment is another ploy of politicians and SGPC team to escape action.

A retired SGPC employee has claimed through a video that he gave Saroops to devotees without making mandatory entries in the record after getting written slips from various SGPC members, who did not want to make the release of Saroops official.

Why SGPC and Akal Takhat Jathedar have not taken the slips from that employee to take the matter to its logical conclusion. Apart from It, why there has been no legal action against anyone as yet?.

Though with their latest act, SGPC chief and its members have absolved themselves, but they will have to the ire of residents if they do not give the answers to all questions.
