NEW DELHI: Pakistan has issued visas to 1,100 Sikh pilgrims on the eve of Baisakhi celebrations, the Pakistan high commission said here in a statement.
The pilgrims will participate in the annual Baisakhi celebrations from 12-22 April. “Under the framework of the Pakistan-India Protocol on Visits to Religious Shrines of 1974, a large number of Sikh yatrees from India visit Pakistan to observe various religious occasions every year,” it said.
“The commission wishes the visiting pilgrims a fulfilling yatra,” it added.
The SGPC had sent over 850 names to the Ministry of External Affairs for grant of visa.
