The images show that nearly every building has either sustained significant damage or has been destroyed by the blast.
According to Lebanon’s Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, 2,750 tonnes of ammonium nitrate exploded during the blast.
The death toll from the warehouse explosion in Lebanon’s capital city Beirut on Tuesday has risen to 137 with over 5,000 people injured, Lebanese Health Minister Hamad Hassan said on Wednesday.
Around 3 lakh people have been displaced due to the blast.
“It’s like a war zone. I’m speechless,” Beirut’s mayor Jamal Itani said.
The cost of the destruction exceeds $3 billion,” the city’s Governor Marwan Abboud said on Wednesday.
