AMRITSAR: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) president Bibi Jagir Kaur has strongly condemned the killing of 16-year-old Sikh youth Ashmeet Singh in Southall, London, and expressed deep grief over the tragic incident.
Bibi Jagir Kaur said that such incidents have created a sense of fear among the Sikhs living abroad.
“This is not the first incident but such attacks on Sikhs had taken place in many countries before. The Sikhs believe in the brotherly relations and adhere to the principle of welfare of all as taught by the Sikh Gurus (masters) and stood ready to help the needy”, said Bibi Jagir Kaur.
SGPC President said that Sikhs have made a great contribution to the progress of different countries through their hard work and sincerity.
Bibi Jagir Kaur urged the Government of India to take an initiative to reach out to foreign governments to prevent such incidents. She said that the External Affairs Ministry of India should fulfill its responsibility on this serious issue.
