The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) to continue its investigations into the mysterious death of Bollywood star Sushant Singh Rajput and it has rekindled the hopes of his family and fans across the country for justice. Apart from it, the court has also rejected a plea by actor Rhea Chakraborty to transfer the case to Maharashtra Police.
Apex court has invoked powers under Article 142 of the Constitution and stated that for justice, competent and impartial investigation are must to unmask the truth as there are very serious allegations of political interference by both Maharashtra and Bihar governments. Court has observed that in such situation, there was a reasonable apprehension of truth being a casualty and justice becoming a victim.
Since the mysterious death of Rajput, there are allegations and counter-allegations and it has become small town actors versus big town actors.
Apart from it, the controversy has also divided Bollywood the industry as many stars have alleged that outsiders have been facing serious problems as the family members of big stars are not allowing the outsiders to establish in industry despite having required talent. There are also allegations that some stars have been blackmailing small town youngsters, who come to Bollywood to become actors as big stars do not allow the small town youngsters to release their movies under big banners. The allegations seem true as many good movies have not been released on big screens while many movies with poor script have got space across the globe.
Rajput was found hanging at his Mumbai apartment on June 14 and police said that it appeared to be a case of suicide.
The post-mortem report ruled out any foul play. But family members and the fans of deceased actor do not see any reason for his suicide. Hopefully, CBI probe will unveil the truth and punish the guilty.
