As India is under lockdown to prevent the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, some people continue to flout.
According to the Urban Dictionary, these people have been defined as ‘Covidiot’.
A COVIDIOT is ‘Someone who ignores the warnings regarding public health or safety. A person who hoards goods, denying them from their neighbours.’
Police across the nation are doing all they can to enforce the lockdown and deal with such people at this crucial time.
A video posted that went viral on social media shows a constable literally sanitising the ‘lathis’ that will be used to flog people.

Another video that the police official shared showed how the Punjab Police were innovatively punishing those who violated the lockdown norms.
In some part of the country, police personnel are making citizens who break the rule hold up signs reading, “I am a friend of coronavirus,” or “I am the enemy of society,” before posting their pictures on Twitter.
