NEW DELHI: The total number of coronavirus cases in India has increased to 61,45,291 after a single-day spike of 70,589 cases.
The number of patients who have been discharged so far has reached 51,01,397, taking the recovery rate to 83.01%.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the country has surged to 96,318. Out of the total cases, 9,47,576 are currently active.
Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected by the pandemic with 2,65,455 active cases, 10,49,947 cured and discharged cases and 35,751 deaths.
