Coronavirus Challenge: ‘Influencer’ Tests Positive For Virus; Had Licked Toilet Seat

An ‘influencer’ in California, who filmed himself licking a toilet seat as a part of a bizarre TikTok challenge, has claimed he is infected with coronavirus (COVID-19).

21-year-old Larz recently shared a video of himself lying in a hospital bed.

“I have been tested positive for coronavirus,” read the post’s caption on Twitter. Larz’s Twitter account was suspended following the post.

Earlier, Larz, whose Twitter handle is @gayshawnmendes, had posted a video of himself licking a toilet seat imitating model Ava Louise on TikTok.

Ava had filmed herself licking the toilet bowl on an airplane – claiming that the highly contiguous virus could not harm her.

A Twitter user @PardesSeleh shared Larz’s original post as well as him taking part in the absurd TikTok challenge.

“A kid who licked toilets as part of the #CoronaVirusChallenge says he’s now in the hospital with coronavirus,” tweeted the user.

However it is still unclear whether Larz has been actually infected or not.

Many Twitteratis wrote that him testing positive was’ Karma’.

More than 4 lakh people have been infected with the contagious virus since its outbreak in December last year.

The coronavirus can live for three days on some surfaces such as plastic and steel, says research.

Experts, however, say that the risk of people getting infected with coronavirus from touching those materials is quite low.
