According to the daily update from the Hubei health commission, the vast majority of deaths were in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province, the hard-hit epicentre of the outbreak.
There were 630 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the province, bringing the total to around 77,000 in mainland China.
The epidemic has spread to over two dozen countries. Also it is causing mounting alarm due to new pockets of outbreak in Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
It is believed coronavirus originated from a wild animal market in the Chinese city of Wuhan in Hubei province in December last year.
The WHO declared the coronavirus outbreak a global emergency on January 30. And days after the emergency was announced, the Chinese Central Government imposed a lockdown on 60 million people in Hubei province.
At least 10 people have died due to coronavirus outside mainland China.
