Coronavirus: No Domestic Flights From Wednesday, Announced Govt

NEW DELHI: In a fight to check the spread of coronavirus, the government on Monday announced that no domestic flights will operate from Wednesday.

The government said that airlines have to plan operations so as to land at their destination before 11.59 pm on Tuesday. Only cargo flights will be allowed.

The government have already banned international flights for a week and most of the country’s land borders have been sealed.

On Sunday, public transport services were banned to stop the movement of people from states.
India has so far reported 8 deaths from coronavirus with 415 cases of infection.
According to health ministry, 19 states have gone on full lockdown.

In the view of coronavirus pandemic, airlines across the world have been forced to cut down on their flights.
Most airlines would face bankruptcy if the government does not intervene, said a recent study by global aviation consultancy body CAPA.
