Coronavirus Outbreak: Canada Now Has More Than 1,000 Confirmed Cases

OTTAWA: Canada reached a grim milestone as the country surpassed 1,000 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus, with 13 casualties.

By March 21 (GMT) there were 241 new cases and 7 new deaths recorded in Canada.

British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta also have the highest provincial totals of COVID-19 cases in the country. B.C.

Only 18 other countries have surpassed 1,000 cases, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.

The rest of those 18 countries are all located in Europe, with the exception of China, Iran, the United States and South Korea.
