CHANDIGARH: Rural Development Department Director Vipul Ujjwal has tested positive for coronavirus.
Vipul was present in a meeting of the department on Thursday, which was also attended several officials.
As per reports, the officials include Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Tript Rajinder Bajwa.
All officers who attended the meeting have gone into quarantine and their tests are being conducted.
The Rural Development and Panchayat minister is also being tested now.
As the COVID-19 cases continue to rise, the Punjab government will set up a plasma bank to facilitate plasma therapy treatment in the state.
The approval for the same was given by CM Captain Amarinder Singh while chairing a review meeting of COVID-19 situation.
Plasma therapy is already being carried out as an ICMR trial project in the state’s government hospitals for which 15 patients were selected.
