TEXAS, US: In the world of weird and wonderful things, two customers gifted a car to a waitress, who served them at breakfast.
Adrianna Edwards in Galveston, Texas, who works at an American restaurant chain Denny’s, walked about 22.5 km (14 miles) to get to work almost every day.
“I have bills to pay. I’ve got to eat. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do,” Ms Edwards was quoted as saying.
But now it looks like Ms Edward’s days of walking to work are at last over.
A couple eating at Denny’s on Tuesday found out about the story of Adrianna Edwards that she was saving to buy a car. So, the couple decided to do it for her.
The couple, who didn’t want to disclose their identities, went Classic Galveston Auto Group on Broadway Street and brought a car for the waitress.
Soon after, they came back to Denny’s with a 2011 Nissan Sentra to surprise Ms Edwards.
“She (the waitress) teared up, which made me happy that she was so moved by that,” told the woman who bought the car.
Adrianna Edwards’ five hours commute has now cut down to 30 minutes, and that’s just because of the generous gift.
There are no strings attached to the gifted car but had just one request that she’ll pay the kindness forward. And it is a request that Ms Edwards plans to honour.
“I still feel like I’m dreaming,” Ms Edwards said. “Every two hours, I look out my window and see if there’s still a car there.”
Last year, an Alabama man was gifted a car by his boss as he walked 32 km to reach his office on time on his first day of work. What are your thoughts about humanity? Tell us in the comment section.
