MUMBAI: Actress Deepika Padukone on Tuesday crossed the 50 million followers mark on Instagram and became third Indian to do so.
Deepika took to her social media platform and wrote she was “grateful” for hitting the milestone.
The Piku actress re-posted a series of Instagram stories and fan arts by her fans, which included her pictures, video montages and even letters to mark the occasion.
Cricketer Virat Kohli (over 67 million) and actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas (over 54 million) are the other two Indians who have more than 50 million followers on Instagram.
Deepika is followed by Shraddha Kapoor with over 49 million followers.
Through the lockdown, Deepika has stayed active on Instagram, interacting her fans with updates from her personal and professional life.
On the work front, Deepika was last seen in Meghna Gulzar’s Chhapaak, and will be next starring in Shakun Batra’s yet untitled film along with Siddhant Chaturvedi and Ananya Panday.
The film was scheduled to go on floors in Sri Lanka but got pushed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
