NEW DELHI: The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee’s (DSGMC) general house on Friday suspended the membership of its former president Manjit Singh GK.
DSGMC claimed that Manjit Singh GK had committed “financial irregularities”. The committee accused Singh of misappropriation of gurdwara funds, passing fake bills, misuse of official cars for personal use and others.
Manjit Singh GK denied the allegation, saying, “If even one rupee of irregularity is proved, I will pay double of that.”
GK was elected as a member of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee in 2017.
Following a two-and-a-half-hour general house meeting, the DSGMC-led by Manjinder Singh Sirsa said Manjit Singh GK had been given a one-month period to deposit Rs 55 crore.

Questioning the continuation of Sirsa as DSGMC chief, GK said, “A case is pending against him in the court. He should resign and face the charges.”
Meanwhile, GK termed the decision taken at the general house meeting illegal as he is an elected representative and there is no provision in DSGMC rules to end his membership.
Manjit Singh GK had quit the Shiromani Akali Dal and formed his own outfit called the Jag Aasra Gur Ott (JAGO) party.
