Dhindsa Is Serious Problem

The jumping of congress ministers into the fray to help rebel and suspended Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) Rajya Sabha MP Sukhdev Singh Dhindsa and his Lehra MLA son Parminder Singh Dhindsa in their fight against the SAD, seems to have finally brought the cat out of the bag.

The proximity of Sukhdev Dhindsa with Punjab CM Capt Amarinder Singh and senior BJP leaders is an open secret while the statements of congress ministers in favour of Dhindsa and the presence of BJP leaders during the meeting of supporters of Sr Dhindsa at his Sangrur residence have only confirmed again that he has the backing of both Congress and BJP leaders.

The shrewd political management of Sr Dhindsa can be gauged from the fact despite losing elections repeatedly, he not only ruled the SAD, but even rose to the rank of central minister. Sr Dhindsa enjoyed power whenever SAD came to power in Punjab and many times, he remained powerful while SAD was in opposition as he was nominated to Rajya Sabha.

Since Dhindsa groomed his own team by ignoring the hardcore Akalis, after their suspension majority of senior Akalis have a sigh of relief and all have come out against Dhindsa. But Sukhbir Badal has decided to groom his own team in each district, it started a tiff between both and finally, Sr Dhindsa opened a front.

The open support of Congress ministers to Dhindsas has brought all rebellion of Dhindsa under scanner as Sr Dhindsa has been claiming that he had been fighting for the restoration of democracy in SAD. He has been staying away from party functions and openly challenging the election of SAD president Sukhbir Badal.

Earlier also many Taksali Akali leaders have left SAD, but the majority either failed or came back. But since Dhindsa has the backing of BJP and Congress leaders and has the financial support of his Bombay based rich relative, he is likely to create problems for Badal’s in coming days.
