BOSTON: Bostonian Dr Sajani Shah has been appointed as the new Chair of American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) Board of Trustees.
Dr Sajani Shah is a second-generation physician of Indian origin, who will serve or 2020-21.
A former president of the Indian Medical Association of New England (IMANE), Dr Shah will replace Dr Seema Arora, also a Bostonian and former president of IMANE.
“I am excited to announce that Dr Sajani Shah, a second-generation physician of Indian Origin, and the first-ever from the Young Physicians Section, has been elected as the Chair of BOT, AAPI for the year 2020-21,” said AAPI President Dr Suresh Reddy.
“I am so proud that this historic milestone by AAPI has occurred during my Presidency,” said Reddy at AAPI Spring Governing Body Meet held on Long Island, New York.
Dr Shah, who specializes in minimally invasive Bariatric Surgery, earned her executive MBA from Massachusetts Institute of Technology
Currently, Dr Shah is serving as the Chief of Minimally Invasive Bariatric/Surgery and is the Medical Director of Weight and Wellness, Obesity Treatment Program in New England.
Dr Shah is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at Tufts University School of Medicine. She has been serving as a member of BOT, AAPI since 2018.Get Breaking news and Latest News from India and around the world on GlobalPunjabTV.net.
