Former Uttrakhand CM appointed In-charge General Secretary of Punjab Congress

CHANDIGARH: Former Uttrakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has been appointed new Incharge general secretary of Punjab Congress in place of Asha Kumari.

The appointment has also paved the way for the announcement of the much-delayed new body of the Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC).

In the present set up, Sunil Jakhar is expected to continue as PPCC chief.

The replacement of the general secretary in-charge is being seen as a signal to the senior party leaders in the state and the Congress government led by Capt Amarinder Singh.
