Four of Indian-Origin Family Shot Dead in United States

Four members of an Indian-origin family were shot dead inside their home in West Des Moines, US on Saturday, Iowa police said. All four had multiple gunshots wounds, the police added. The bodies were identified as Chandrasekhar Sunkara, 44; Lavanya Sunkara, 41; and two boys of 15 and 10 years of age, the officers of the West Des Moines Police department said. The incident came into light when the guests staying along with four deceased persons saw the bodies and informed the local police. “We are continuing to work through this investigation. We will follow through until we have answered as many questions as the evidence allows,” said Sergeant Dan Wade, West Des Moines Police Department. According to reports, Chandrasekhar was in mental depression, might have killed his wife and two children with the gun, and later killed himself by committing suicide. However, the motive behind the killings is immediately not clear and no suspects have been identified.
