Heroin worth ₹6.65 crore seized in Ludhiana; father, son arrested

LUDHIANA: Ludhiana STF team has arrested a father and son in a crackdown on drugs. Police recovered 33 grams of heroin from the possession of the arrested accused. Police had received a tip-off that accused Joga Singh and his father were selling heroin in a rickshaw outside their house.

Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid and nabbed the two accused while they were selling drugs. Police recovered 180 wax paper envelopes along with heroin, an electronic condom and Rs 1 lakh 32,500 earned from selling drugs from their possession.

Disclosing this here today, STF Ludhiana Chief Inspector Harbans Singh said that the accused had told in the preliminary investigation that they were bringing heroin from Delhi and supplying it to the areas around Ludhiana.

According to police, Joga Singh himself is addicted to heroin. Police have registered a case and initiated further action.
