When the outbreak of Covid-19 started, our country residents appeared to be more worried, but when the number COVID-19 patient has been increasing sharply these days, majority of citizens are not taking even basic preventative measures. Till last evening, India crossed Russia in total infections and became the third biggest hot spot of virus and presently our country is behind only the United States and Brazil.
India has reported 24,500 new cases and 430 new deaths during the last 24 hours and the total number of Covid-19 positive cases have reached at 6, 97,500. Health department experts say India has a high caseload, but its death rate is around 2.8 per cent, which is lower than the global average of 4.7 per cent. The urban side of the country continues to see a sharp rise of cases and presently Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Delhi have more than 61 per cent cases of all country. The other two big cities including Mumbai and Chennai continue to see more infections.
Globally the US is the worst-hit country as the number of infection has reached near three million cases and 132,000 deaths. It’s followed by Brazil with nearly 1.7 million cases and over 63,000 deaths.
Though the governments of developed countries like the US have been putting in place much-needed mechanism to prevent the spread of infection, but their residents are unwilling to stay indoors, leading to sharp number cases. But in India, things are on the opposite site as here residents stayed indoor for a long time, but the government failed to take effective steps to improve its health facilities. With lockdown, the Indian government has only delayed the spread of the virus, but it has failed to improve its health facilities.
Things are taking a worse turn and now its responsibility of both government and residents to contribute to control the spread of infection rather than blaming each other.
