India Records Biggest Jump of Coronavirus Deaths, Cases in a Day

NEW DELHI: Recording the highest single-day count so far, seven deaths from the novel coronavirus were reported from across India on Thursday, taking the toll from the infection to 17, even as states registered 87 new cases.

At present, the total number of coronavirus cases in India crossed the 700 mark, according to reports from states.

Despite the massive number of cases being recorded, the government maintains that India continues to be in stage two of the spread, which is the local transmission.

Meanwhile, in the wake of the significant increase in Coronavirus cases across the world, the Indian government on Thursday announced that the ban on international flight operations to India has been extended to April 14.
