An Indian man has been charged in a sexual assault investigation.
An Indian-origin man is facing multiple charges for sexually assaulting a female international student.
28-year-old Gurpinder Singh is charged with one count each of sexual assault, extortion, issuing a death threat, and voyeurism.
According to Toronto police, the international student befriended the Brampton resident, who claimed that he would help her open bank accounts in Canada.
The student travelled to Toronto on Friday, November 15, from another province to meet the accused at a local hotel where he allegedly sexually assaulted her.
Police also told that the accused took photos of the girl and threatened both her and her family.
