India's COVID-19 caseload rose to 1,01,23,778 after 24,712 new cases

NEW DELHI: India recorded 24,712 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the total count so far to 1,01,23,778, as per the Union Health Ministry’s update.

A total of 312 deaths were reported in the last 24 hours and the death toll now stands at 1,46,756.

With the discharge of 29,791 patients, India has reported 96,93,173 recoveries so far.

India’s COVID-19 tally had crossed the 20-lakh mark on August 7, 30 lakh on August 23, 40 lakh on September 5 and 50 lakh on September 16. It went past 60 lakh on September 28, 70 lakh on October 11, crossed 80 lakh on October 29, 90 lakh on November 20 and surpassed the one-crore mark on December 19.
