
IPL 2019 : BCCI announces schedule for 17 games
As Elections of 2019 are knocking on the doors of Indian politics like a big bad wolf, the Indian cricket board has declared schedule of the first 17 matches of IPL, which will be played amid March 25th to April Five 2019.
Before the final schedule, the BCCI is waiting for the election commission’s declaration for the final date of general elections of 2019. The declaration is expect to come forth in a week or two.
An official spokesperson said, “These matches are still subject to change as the announcement of the Lok Sabha election dates are yet unveiled.”
Spokesperson also asserted that, once the election date are released, the BCCI will address any issue with the matches falling in the first two weeks and will also prepare an alternative schedule for the remainder of the season; working with the local authorities around the polling dates.
Whereas all the past election begun in first and second week of April of previous poll years, so as per experts, 2019’s Lok Sabha polls may also follow the same trend.
So, BCCI may have announced final schedule for the IPL just before election begin.
