Jalandhar reports 7th coronavirus death; state toll rises to 39

JALANDHAR: A 69-year-old woman died of the novel coronavirus in Jalandhar district on Wednesday.

With this, the state’s death toll has reached 39.

There are 322 active cases of coronavirus in the state. So far, 1642 COVID-19 patients have recovered in Punjab.

Punjab has become the leading state in India to fight the novel coronavirus by achieving a recovery rate of 78 per cent, the Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, the state reported 22 new coronavirus cases, taking the total number of cases to 2,002. On the same day, one more person succumbed to Covid-19 in Pathankot.
