Man Arrested After Over 1,000 Guns Seized From LA Neighborhood
A suspect has been arrested when over 1,000 arms were seized on Wednesday from a house in an upscale Holmby Hills, Los Angeles neighborhood, said police. Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Officer Jeff Lee said that agents from Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and LAPD personnel on Wednesday served a search warrant in an investigation of manufacturing and selling of illegal firearms. According to reports, hundreds of guns are seen scattered out in the house’s driveway in an aerial footage from the scene. There were weapons from handguns to rifles. In a written statement, Bureau spokeswoman Ginger Colbrun said that authorities were anonymously tipped off that someone was “conducting illegal firearms transaction outside the scope of the federal firearm license that the individual possess”. Besides weapons, other firearm manufacturing tools and equipment were also found in the house. In 2015, LAPD seized 1,200, $230,000 in cash and seven tonnes of ammunition from a home. However, the owner was found died in a vehicle outside and natural cause was the reason of the death. The LAPD at that time said that it was considered one of the largest weapon’s seizures from one house.
