Patiala: DC Sandeep Hans urges health officials to ensure vaccination of all eligible persons

Patiala: DC Sandeep Hans urges health officials to ensure vaccination of all eligible persons

PATIALA: Sandeep Hans, Deputy Commissioner, Patiala reviewed the performance of Government Rajindra Hospital and District Health Department on the preparations for dealing with the possible third wave of Covid, Preventing Spread of Dengue, Covid Vaccination,  Oxygen Plants and other health related matters.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Government Medical College and Rajindra Hospital and the District Health officials to work as a team without any hesitation to prevent the residents from Dengue spread and Covid pandemic besides avoiding other health related problems.

Sandeep Hans appealed to the people to protect themselves from Dengue by keeping their surroundings clean and curbing the production of mosquito larvae due to stagnant clean or dirty water.

He sirected the Health Department to take the dengue prevention and awareness campaign in the rural areas to the Dana Mandis and bring the entire population of the district under immunization by setting up special vaccination camps to prevent Covid.

The Deputy Commissioner was apprised by the Vice Principal of Government Medical College, Dr RPS Sibia, Medical Superintendent Rajindra Hospital Dr H S Rekhi and Civil Surgeon  Dr Prince Sodhi about the arrangements done in wake of possible third wave of Covid and the impact on younger children.  He also reviewed the condition of commissioning of oxygen plants and oxygen constructors in the district.

Municipal Commissioner Poonamdeep Kaur said that in Patiala city, councilors and mohalla committees have been conducting door to door check of dengue larvae to create awareness among the people and dry day is being observed every Friday.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr Preeti Yadav said that all preparations have been completed in the district to deal with the possible third wave of Covid.  District Epidemiologist Dr.  Sumit Singh said that Gambujia fish has been released in 600 ponds in the villages of the district and the mosquito larvae were being destroyed after conducting house-to-house survey.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Urban Development) Gautam Jain, SDM Charanjit Singh, Assistant Commissioner (G) Jasleen Kaur Bhullar, Medical Superintendent of Mata Kaushalya Hospital Dr Sandeep Kaur, District Immunization Officer  Dr Venu Goyal, Covid Ward Incharge  Dr Sachin Kaushal, Dengue Ward Incharge Dr Sanjay Kumar, Deputy Medical Commissioner Dr  Sajila Khan and Covid Vaccination Nodal Officer Dr Preneet Kaur was also present.
