The Punjab Congress has been in the news for some time now. Earlier, ministers who had been in power for four-and-a-half years were rarely in the news. The real issues of Punjab are missing.
The newly elected President of Punjab Navjot Singh Sidhu reminded his government of the promises he had made to the people in 2017, after questioning the Chief Minister directly, everyone else took over the fronts. Ministers and MLAs started making statements against their own government i.e. their own Chief Minister.
The matter began to burn. Everyone knows that when the iron is hot, not everyone will shy away from hitting it to push it towards them. Instead of taking stock of the people of their constituency in the state, they have moved to Delhi to get the High Command to resolve the rift between the Chief Minister and the insurgents. Last Tuesday, people started asking questions on social media. Who will be the next Chief Minister? Will the Presidential rule apply in Punjab? Etc. etc. According to the latest reports, the rebel faction on Wednesday left for Dehradun to meet Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat. Among those who met Rawat were Minister Tripat Rajinder Bajwa, Sukhjinder Randhawa, Charanjit Singh Channi, Sukhbinder Singh Sukh Sarkaria, State General Secretary Pargat Singh, MLA Kulbir Zira, Virenderjit, and Surjit Dhiman.
Hurricane in Punjab Congress has changed its political color. On Tuesday, two dozen Congress MLAs and ministers even said that they did not trust their Chief Minister (Capt. Amarinder Singh) at all. In other words, the Chief Minister should be replaced.
It is only natural that something like this should happen when the political spectacles start to look ugly. But the question would also be that when elections are coming up in the next six months, the Chief Minister will be replaced. This is not the purpose of ticket distribution. Let them know.
According to media reports, the monsoon session of the Punjab Vidhan Sabha is in September. The Punjab Cabinet is scheduled to meet on August 26. Mr. Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa, Mr. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa, Mr. Charanjit Singh Channi, and Mr. Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria held a meeting at the official residence of Minister Mr. Tripat Rajinder Singh Bajwa on Tuesday. He decided that there was no trust in the Chief Minister. Mr. Charanjit Channy said that the Chief Minister had never considered the important issues of the state including bribery, drugs, power deals, mafia, and Dalits. The 2022 elections are a difficult time for Congress. He has set out to get the party across. The mutiny has indirectly demanded the replacement of the Chief Minister.
Because of the 2022 elections, the Punjab Congress is suffering a lot due to the food war. Looking at the current developments, the question arises as to whether the Congress opposition parties will be able to take advantage of it or whether the Congress will wrap it up by then. It seems that the people of Punjab have forgotten to solve their problems in recent times!
