Punjab Reports Second Coronavirus Death, Patient Dies in Amritsar

AMRITSAR: Punjab reported the second casualty due to coronavirus on Sunday as 62-year-old Harbhajan Singh succumbs to the infection in Amritsar.

The sexagenarian was undergoing treatment for the fatal infection at the Government Medical College in the city since March 23.

Confirming the death of Harbhjan Singh, Principal Government Medical College Amritsar, and Dr. Sujata Sharma said that Harbhajan Singh was an associate of Baldev Singh of Nawashehar who died recently.

Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon said, “Harbhajan Singh was diabetic and also suffered from hypertension.”

Meanwhile, Harbhajan Singh’s wife, son, daughter-in-law, and a neighbour had also recently tested positive for COVID and are receiving treatment at Hoshiarpur.

Punjab has reported a total 38 coronavirus-positive cases so far and out of them patients infected due to Baldev Singh are 29.
