PATIALA: Facing imminent arrest after the addition of Arms Act in the FIR, four cops have applied for anticipatory bail applications before a Sangrur court, which has issued a notice to the state for May 26.
Those who have moved the court include suspended assistant sub-inspector of police Balkar Singh, head constable Gurjinder Singh and constables Jasveer Singh and Harvinder Singh.
Five Punjab police cops were booked by the Sangrur and Barnala police for taking Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala to Badbar police firing range in Barnala district and allowing him to use an AK-47 automatic weapon to fire a few shots after allowing him to use his personal 9mm pistol at the Ladda Kothi firing range in Sangrur.
The Five Cops against whom the cases were registered had been placed on the suspension.
On May 17, police had added Sections 25 and 30 of the Arms Act 1959 to both FIRs registered against Moosewala and others.
