VANCOUVER: Surrey RCMP Property Crime Target Team recovered a “large cache” of stolen property including bikes, power tools & weapons, valued at more than $80,000.
The seizure of stolen property began as an investigation by officers into a residential break-and-enter on Feb. 11 in Newton.
Mounties say that after an investigation, their Property Crime Target Team (PCTT) was able to get search warrants for a home and storage locker in Newton.
Further, police found 40 high-end bikes, valued at more than $80,000, a large number of power tools, several pellet guns, two stun batons and two firearms with ammunition.
Mounties arrested three people in the raid, however, no one has been charged.
Staff Sgt. Ryan Element said, “With this investigation, we have been able to disrupt an organized group who are suspected of trafficking stolen property.”
While some of the items have since been returned to the owners, and the Investigators are currently undertaking an extensive search to locate the owners of the remaining property.
