Three days congress drama of rallies has failed to help Punjab rather it has multiplied the problems and anxiety as Punjab health Minister Balbir Sidhu, who had attended Sangrur, has tested positive for COVID.
Apart from multiplying the health woes of Punjab as thousands attended the rallies of congress in Moga and other districts without following health department instructions, the latest event of congress has also laid bare the sharp differences among its own party leaders. Former Punjab Minister Navjot Sidhu after criticizing his own party performance from a stage in Moga in the presence of Rahul Gandhi, CM Capt Amarinder Singh and others, did not attend any other meeting of party.
The repeated requests of Punjab in-charge Harish Rawat failed to unite party leaders to welcome their senior leader Rahul Gandhi as both former presidents of Punjab Pardesh Congress Committee including Partap Singh Bajwa and Shamsher Singh Dullo, did not attend even a single party rally.
Many are still wondering for the purpose of rallies as neither Rahul offered anything new nor Punjab CM made any big statement to help state farmers, who are sitting on indefinite protests across Punjab. Both Rahul and Capt repeated almost same speeches in all rallies while in some districts like Sangrur, many local leaders preferred to stay away from the rallies of their own party as they alleged that they were not given the proper invitation.
Finally, the rallies lacked any much-needed vision and plan to mobilize support and it has only fuelled disappointment among residents.
