Two lakh people to participate in historic Kisan March from three Takhts: SAD

CHANDIGARH, SEPTEMBER 30: As many as two lakh people will join the historic Kisan Marches in 40,000 vehicles starting from all three Sikh religious Takhts to Chandigarh tomorrow where the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) will hand over a memorandum demanding revocation of the recently passed Agricultural Acts to the central government through the Punjab Governor.

Disclosing this party senior vice president Dr Daljit Singh Cheema said while party President Sukhbir Singh Badal would lead the Kisan March from Sri Akal Takht at Sri Amritsar Sahib, former union minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal would lead the march from Sri Damdama Sahib at Talwandi Sabo and Prof Prem Singh Chandumajra from Sri Keshgarh Sahib at Sri Anandpur Sahib.

Giving further details, the party Spokesman said the march from Sri Amritsar Sahib would travel via Jalandhar, Phagwara, Nawanshahr, Ropar, Kurali and Mullanpur before culminating at Chandigarh. He said the march from Talwandi Sabo would travel via Maur, Rampura, Tappa, Barnala, Sangrur, Bhawanigarh, Patiala, Rajpura, Airport light, Zirakpur and Chandigarh. The march from Sri Anandpur Sahib will join the march being led by the SAD President at Ropar bypass.

Dr Cheema said the Kisan March from Amritsar and Talwandi Sabo both would start at 8 am and that from Anandpur Sahib would start at 10 am. He said due to shortage of time all three Marches would proceed directly towards Raj Bhawan instead of assembly at Dussehra ground first as planned earlier.
