DUBAI: Scientists in United Arab Emirates (UAE) are using cloud-blasting drones that fly into clouds and unleash electrical charges to produce downpours amid 50°C heat in Dubai.
The UAE’s cloud seeding operations are part of an ongoing $15 million mission to generate rain in the country.
The rainmaking technology, known as “cloud seeding,” gives clouds an electric shock that makes then clump together to produce precipitation.
A video of the downpour was also shared on the official Twitter handle of UAE’s National Centre of Meteorology. The video shows rain pouring down on a highway as the cars navigate through it.
