Union Minister Hardeep Puri hits back at Amarinder on MSP issue

NEW DELHI: Union Minister Hardeep Puri hit back at Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh on MSP announced for paddy.

In a tweet he said that by issuing a cursory & half-hearted criticism of the MSP increase, Punjab CM has acknowledged that MSP has not & will not be abolished! Belying those spreading rumours that MSP & Mandis will be abolished. He claimed that this is some progress for the three farm laws!

This came after the Central Government on Wednesday had announced to raise the minimum support price (MSP) of paddy by Rs 72 per quintal to Rs 1,940 per quintal for the 2021-22 crop year.
