US : 2 Officers Injured in Shooting at Walmart, Gunman Dead

ARKANSAS: Two police officers were wounded and a gunman was killed Monday morning during a shooting at a Walmart store in Forrest City, Arkansas, officials said.

The police chief, Deon Lee, said in a news conference on Monday that police officers responded to a 911 call that a man was making threats in the grocery section of the store.

The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Bobby Gibbs, died in an exchange of gunfire at the store.

No civilians were injured in the incident.

Lee identified the injured officers as Lt. Eric Varner and Detective Eugene Watlington.

The shooting took place at a Walmart Supercenter on Deaderick Road in Forrest City, which has a population of more than 14,200 people and is about 90 miles northeast of the capital city of Little Rock.
