AUSTRALIA: National Film and Sound Archive of Australia (NFSA) has released 21-second footage featuring the last known moving images of Thylacine (Tasmanian tiger) filmed in 1935.
Unseen for 85 years, the clip shared on Twitter shows tiger named ‘Benjamin’ at the defunct Beaumaris Zoo pacing his enclosure.
The footage that has now been digitised in 4K has been viewed over 98,000 times on twitter.

The Thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus: dog-headed pouched-dog) is a large carnivorous marsupial now believed to be extinct.
