With 23 New COVID-19 Cases, Punjab Tally Rises To 2028

CHANDIGARH, MAY 21: Punjab reported 23 new cases of novel coronavirus or COVID-19, said the Punjab’s media bulletin on Thursday.

The development has taken the state’s case tally to 2028, said the bulletin.

Of 23 new cases, 7 were reported from Hoshiarpur; 5 from Amritsar; 4 from Gurdaspur; 2 each from Pathankot and Ludhiana; 1 each from Patiala, Kapurthala and Barnala.

Amritsar district reported a death on Thursday, taking the state’s death toll to 39.

There are 170 active cases of coronavirus in the state till date.

25 new patients – 13 from Jalandhar; 8 from Muktsar; 2 each from Fazilka and SAS Nagar – recovered on Thursday, taking the total recovered cases to 1819.
