CHANDIGARH, NOVEMBER 28, 2020: Criticizing the Haryana government and police for the way they treated Punjab’s farmers on their way to Delhi as part of Dilli Chalo protest, Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh told on Saturday that he won’t speak to Haryana CM ML Khattar unless the latter apologizes to the farmers.
In an interview, Capt condemned Khattar for using water cannons and lathi charging against the protesting farmers who were peacefully marching to Delhi.

On Friday, Capt Amarinder Singh slammed the ML Khattar government in Haryana for its continued use of “brute force” to stop farmers even after the Union Government’s conciliatory move.
“What’s the need for such harsh measures? This barbarism needs to stop right now @mlkhattar ji,” said the Chief Minister, flaying the vicious manner in which the Haryana Government was treating the innocent and peaceful farmers.
Centre has now allowed farmers to enter Delhi, yet the @mlkhattar govt. is resorting to brutal force to stop them from marching peacefully to the national capital? What’s the need for such harsh measures? This barbarism needs to stop right now @mlkhattar ji.

He expressed shock at the methods used by Haryana in its desperate bid to stop the farmers, including destruction of public property by digging up the national highway. “The farmers did not inflict even an iota of damage to any public property over the past three months of their protest, and here is a state government that is brazenly and shamelessly digging up roads made of public money,” he quipped.
