Movie – Pathan

Time – 146 minutes

Director- Siddharth Anand

Cast- Shah Rukh Khan, John Abraham, Deepika Padukone, Dimple Kapadia, Ashutosh Rana

How is the story of the film?

The story of the film is about an ex-Indian agent Jim, whose family is killed in front of him because India did not pay compensation for their release. Assuming Jim to be dead, the Government of India awards him with a gallantry award, but Jim survives. After some time, Jim joined hands with Pakistan to avenge the death of his family from India and created a biological weapon.

Pathan and his team have been prepared by India to stop Jim. During the mission, Pathan meets Dr. Rubina Khan, who makes Pathan’s mission more difficult. Now how will Pathan stop the mighty Jim, or will he be able to stop it, is the story of the film.

Acting of stars: Shahrukh impresses in acting, Deepika’s screen presence is good

Shahrukh Khan is good in the role of Pathan. He has no break in acting. Shahrukh has also impressed in the action scenes. Deepika Padukone’s screen presence is good, but good dialogues have not come in her account. Although she has been given the role of a Pakistani doctor to become an ISI agent, but the boldness with which she is seen, Pakistani touch is not found in it. His Pakistani accent has also not been noticed.

Dimple Kapadia and Ashutosh Rana have given good performances in the role of senior officers. The best role here belongs to John Abraham. Whenever the character of John, made with intense look and strong dialogue, has come, Shahrukh has been overshadowed. His action fails Shahrukh. John’s dialogue delivery in the film is amazing.

Excellent direction, screenplay is also strong

Talking about direction, Siddharth Anand’s work is outstanding. He has presented all the scenes very well. In terms of screenplay, the film has been made excellent, in which it is difficult to find fault.

Music plus point of the movie

Pathan’s background music is quite fresh. None of the music is overused, which is its plus point. Pathan’s anthem has also been used at some places. The new music of every scene makes it fresh.

VFX and special effects superb

The high level VFX in the action scenes will keep you on the edge of your seat. Nowhere you will feel that the scenes are fake, which is its plus point. Action scenes are quite smooth.

Final Verdict: To watch the film or not?

The story of the film moves very fast, but the writers have not been able to show the back story of each character. Deepika’s childhood has been covered in a few seconds, after that you will have to understand her story yourself. The Pathan character has been created with little detail, but even in that the writers haven’t gone into depth, because Shahrukh’s entry is beaten up, so the audience doesn’t get a chance to applaud.

The hard work done in John’s entry scene is clearly visible. Salman is seen here in a cameo of a few minutes, which again picks up the pace of the slow film. Here Salman helps friend Pathan by becoming a tiger and also tickles him. One more thing that is missed here is that the story has started from the mission and ended on the mission. There is a lack of romance, which you will feel. There is only one song in the entire film and that is Besharam Rang. Apart from this, you will get to see the second song after the film is over.

John, who became the villain, has been told to be a bit too powerful, but in the end he has been easily dropped. You may also find it awkward for the villain to repeatedly tell himself his plan and the way to stop it.

The controversial scene has been removed from the film.

There was a lot of controversy over the saffron bikini worn by Deepika Padukone on the song Besharam Rang. People trended #BoycottPathan and demanded to stop the release of the film. After the controversy escalated, the censor board suggested some changes in the film. After this, the makers did not remove the saffron bikini from the film, but a bold scene of Deepika and Shahrukh wearing saffron bikini has been removed.

If you are die hard fan of Shahrukh and Deepika then you must watch this movie.
